'Til the love runs out, 'til the love runs out." > "I'll be doin' this, if you ever doubt, Their actions are about what they're getting out of them. > "And we'll feel alright, and we'll feel alright,Ĭause we'll work it out, yeah we'll work it out." "Run" is ambiguous - run towards, or away? "Bright" and "black" are opposites - kind of casts doubts on this whole claim of being a light. > "I'll be the bright, and black, that's making you run." > "I'll be your light, your match, your burning sun,"Ĭhristianity talks a lot about its followers being "light in the world" (representing the goodness of Christ in their actions), attracting people to the faith. xD I believe this to be about people who claim to be religious, but don't actually follow the rules of the faith. This is totally different from what all the other comments think of this song, but it was the first thing that struck me when I listened to it, so I'm just going to throw my opinion out there (even if this wasn't the song writer's personal meaning). I'll be the bright and black that's making you run. I'll be our light, your match, your burning sun, 'Til the love runs out, 'til the love runs out, yeah. Momma said "do what you want, say prayers at night",Īnd I'm saying them, cause I'm so devout. My momma raised me good, momma raised me right. ![]() Got an angel on my shoulder, and Mephistopheles. I'm killing every second 'til it sees my soul.Īnd we'll start a fire, and we'll shut it down, I got my mind made up and I can't let go. 'Cause I worked it out, yeah I worked it out. I'll be your fifty thousand clapping like one I'll be your ghost, your game, your stadium. 'Til the love runs out, 'til the love runs out. 'Cause we'll work it out, yeah we'll work it out. ![]() I'll be the bright, and black, that's making you run.Īnd I feel alright, and we'll feel alright, ![]() I'll be your light, your match, your burning sun,
